Page 26 – change waste cans from owner provided to contractor provided. 2. Page 11, section 1.03 C – add “In addition, TCCD is AFM/FM Global insured, projects and materials should comply with FM Global Loss Prevention Data Sheets and use FM Approved products when available. Submittals should be made to FM Global prior to start of construction." 3. Page 11, section 1.03 D – add “and FM Global standards”. 4. Page 11, section 1.05, A, 2 – add AFM/FM Global to the team list. 1. Page 17, section 1.09, c, 1, a – add “Variances may require additional review by FM Global”. 2. Page 21, section 1.10, A – add “The project schedule should allow for up to 10 days review time by FM Global and additional time for additional reviews and responses”. DIVISION 2 1. Page 34, section 1.02, B – add to the end of the paragraph “and should be reported to FM Global Customer Services”. 2. Page 34, section 1.03, E – add to the end of the paragraph “Appropriate safeguards should be observed during demolition. These include control of all ignition sources and housekeeping”. 3. Page 40, section 1.07B – add “7. FM Global Loss Prevention standards, RoofNav, and FM Approval Guide. DIVISION 5 1. Page 60, section 1.04 – add “E. FM Approved in RoofNav and securement per FM Global Data Sheets / RoofNav. DIVISION 7 1. Page 64, section 1.06, add to the end of the paragraph “Roof insulation should be FM Approved, listed within the specific RoofNav assembly materials. 2. Page 64, section 1.07, add to the end of the paragraph “In addition, fireproofing should be FM Approved listed in Approval Guide”. 3. Page 65, section 1.08, add “B. Skylights in VSH areas should be FM Approved with a SH rating tested using 2 inch diameter ice balls and provided with separate hail guards per FM Global Data Sheet 1-34.” Addendum No. 6 TECHNICAL DESIGN GUIDELINES 03/30/22 4. Page 65, section 1.10, add “B. Roofing systems should be FM Approved in RoofNav with appropriate wind rating, hail rating. and Zone 2 and 3 securement enhancements.” 5. Page 65, section 1.13, B, 1 – add to the end of the paragraph “Roof flashings should be FM Approved in RoofNav with appropriate wind ratings and also comply with FM Global Data Sheets 1-49. 6. Page 66, section 1.04, add the following: B. ACM/MCM wall panels with core materials are only permitted when the core is fire retardant, the wall panel has passed a national recognized test (such as NFPA 285 or BS 8414), panel facers are of aluminum or a higher melting temperature metal alloy, non-combustible insulation is provided within the wall behind the panel, weather resistance barriers are not exposed to air withing the cavity and covered with a thermal barrier or non-combustible insulation / substrate, and wind resistance for zones 4 and 5 plus applicable safety factors. C. Simple sheet metal panels for walls without a core do not have to follow the fire rating criteria listed above. DIVISION 8 1. Page 67, section 1.01, add item “G. Specify tested windows / doors per FM Global Data Sheet 1-28.” DIVISION 9 1. Page 85, section 1.01, A, add at the end of the paragraph “In addition, limit the amount of combustible materials in the ceiling, walls and equipment/furnishings. Ceiling finishes should avoid interfering with the proper operation of sprinkler heads and other fire protection systems.” 2. Page 85 section 1.07.A.4 – change section to read as follows: “Basis of design product is Fine Fissured Humiguard, for new projects and renovation areas that need to match existing, and Armstrong Canyon for new areas or construction projects, as manufactured by Armstrong World Industries, Inc“ DIVISION 11 1. Page 102, section 1.03, A, add item “2. Kitchen cooler / freezer panels should be FM Approved in Approval Guide.” 2. Page 102, section 1.07, add “B. Equipment that may be classified as a higher hazard occupancy, ignitable / flammable liquid storage should be in compliance with FM Global Data Sheet 7-29. Use FM Approved products.” DIVISION 12 1. Page 109 – add section 1.09.1 Waste Receptacles “Rubbermaid # FG356988, Untouchable Square Container with lid # FG268988, 23 gallons capacity, beige or approved equal; and add section 1.09.2 “For smaller areas such as classrooms and offices, provide Rubbermaid # FG295600BLA 28 quart rectangular black plastic for waste or approved equal, and Rubbermaid # FG295673BLUE 28 quart rectangular blue plastic for recycling or approved equal.” Addendum No. 6 TECHNICAL DESIGN GUIDELINES 03/30/22 DIVISION 21 1. Page 116, section 1.01, B, add after insurer underwriter “(FM Global Data Sheet and FM Approved components)”. DIVISION 22 1. Page 127, section 1.04, E, add item “9. Roof drains and roof overflow drains should be designed in accordance with FM Global Data Sheet 1-54 systems.” 2. Page 129, section 1.04, I, add item “2. Fuel oil storage tanks should be in compliance with FM Global Data Sheets”. DIVISION 23 1. Page 150, section 1.04, under section header add “All rooftop equipment shall be secured for wind resistance and should have hail guards. All mechanical equipment should be FM Approved. DIVISION 27 1. Page 254, add item S “Synchronized Time Systems (Appendix B SEC 27 53 13 Digital Clocks). DIVISION 28 1. Page 264, Section 1.10, add the following below paragraph A: B. Standards for Alert Beacon Locations 1. TCCD Emergency Management has final review and approval of all alert beacon locations. 2. Standalone alert beacons should be installed at a height of 48” on center. 3. Alert beacons installed above Code Blue phones should be mounted at a height of 60” on center. 4. For new construction and remodels, alert beacons should be installed at every interior Code Blue phone not in classrooms. 5. Every occupied floor of every building needs at least one alert beacon. 6. Conference rooms and mixed-use rooms with occupancy over 75 persons need at least one alert beacon 7. The following areas need at least one alert beacon: a. Loading docks – within 100ft. b. Pools c. Other large spaces with the potential for high occupancy: cafeterias, eating areas, sticky spaces 8. Depending on building layout, additional alert beacons may need to be installed at points of entry/egress or other high-traffic areas. 9. For parking garages, an alert beacon should be installed immediately outside of each entrance to the building on each level. 10. The contact person at TCCD for this discipline: W. Page 265, Section 1.11 not used, delete content. 3. Page 262, section 1.12, B, 1, add at the end of the paragraph “In addition, all fire alarm systems should be designed in accordance with FM Global Data Sheets and use FM Approved components.” DIVISION 32 1. Page 271, section 1.02, A, 4, add to the end of the paragraph “Parking stalls stripe colors are as follow: Yellow for faculty/staff, White for students, White/Blue for Handicap, Blue for visitors, Red for motorcycles and White for service areas.” DIVISION 33 1. Page 283, section 1.02, E, add to the end of the paragraph “All site storm water / flood / utilities for fire protection should be designed in accordance with FM Global Data sheets and use FM Approval components when available”. Addendum No. 6 TECHNICAL DESIGN GUIDELINES 03/30/22 Appendix A Thermal & Moisture Protection - Sample Specifications 1. Page 1, Section 1.02, A, 5; change “Hypalon” to read as follows: “TRA” 2. Page 1, Section 1.02, A, 1, a; delete “3” polyisocyanurate board mechanically fastened” to read as follows: “Design Professional to specify the appropriate thickness of polyisocyanurate insulation to meet all applicable codes. Thickness of insulation shall not be less than three (3”) inches at any application. Polyisocyanurate insulation board shall be mechanically fastened.” 3. Page 2, section 1.04, D, 2; change “SH” to “VSH”. 4. Page 2, section 1.04, D, 1; add “(may change depending on roof height and other factors)” 5. Page 2, section 1.04; add item E to read “This sample specification is based on products by Tremco. When voiding existing roof warranty is not a concerned, and approved by TCCD, an alternate manufacturer may be specified as long as it is for a VSH rated roof per RoofNav.”. 6. Page 9, Section 2.01, A; change “Hypalon” to read as follows: “TRA” 7. Page 9, Section 2.03, B, 2; change “Tremco Hypalon” to read “Tremco TRA”. 8. Page 17, Section 3.07, A, 3, a, d and e; change “Hypalon” to read as follows: “TRA” Appendix B Communications - Sample Specifications 1. Page 1, Section 1.02, B; add item 13 in page 2, “27 53 13 Synchronized Time Systems - Digital Clocks” to the end of the sections list. 2. Page105, add section 27 53 13 Synchronized Time Systems - Digital Clocks after section 27 40 00. 3. Page 116 and 117, add digital clocks additional specifications at the end of section 27 53 13.
